I may have just spent the perfect weekend. It was so much fun! Though I will admit, long weekends always have a leg up on the regular two day weekend.
Friday night was just a night to relax with my cute hubby. We got Chipotle (yum!) and watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. We're working through the past movies before the final movie comes out next week. John and I are going to the midnight IMAX showing next Thursday night and I'M SO EXCITED!!! I know I just loss some major cool points, but its not like I had you all fooled before anyway.
Saturday was spent with my Mom in Asheville. We had a fun day antiquing at the Tobacco Barn and the Screen Door. We saw some amazing stuff at the Tobacco Barn:
Can't you just see this guy in a bright new color?
This huge mahogany bookcase was $3k, but its very drool worthy.
I love this old mantle. How beautiful is that carving?
MUST. HAVE. A. GREEN. CABINET.
I love this. I hope my husband doesn't read this post,
because I totally plan on making this as a gift for him.
There were some seriously questionable items as well:
Creepiest toy ever.
While the Tobacco Barn is more of a random collection of stuff, the Screen Door is a little more upscale, which means I loved everything but most things were above my price range.
Super cool old Tobacco basket. I think it would be a really cool wall hanging .
I love the look of this silver desk.
I think I'm going to do this finish on my powder room vanity.
Here it is up close.
My mom took this one home with her!
I'm no Picasso but I think I can make these.
That sold sticker kinda broke my heart.
How beautiful is this kitchen island?
Here's what I brought home with me:
This is a wooden bowl plated with copper. All those details are actually cut outs and you can see the wood beneath. I was looking for something to go on my coffee table. And I love this!
I have big plans for this painted ceiling tin...
Sunday, we went to church, went to the pool, cooked out hot dogs and then went to some friends house from Homemade Peach Ice Cream and some games. Is that a perfect day or what?
I spent the 4th at my parent's house with my family for a cookout. The only thing that would have made it better is my husband. He had to stay at home and do school work. We definitely missed him. John and I finished up the night with some tennis and another Harry Potter movie.
Seriously, BEST WEEKEND EVER. Perfect mix of family, friends, fun... Hope you had a great Independence Day!
