Color My World Challenge: Inspiration

Color My World 2
Welcome to Week 1 of the Color My World Challenge!
I was so excited when Suzy from Saved by Suzy and Jessamie from Bird and Branch Redesign asked me to be part of this series. The challenge is to choose a color that you normally don’t use and complete 3 projects with it: Décor, Fabric and Paint.
I chose…
Yellow!
AH! What was I thinking??? I have used yellow a couple of times and never loved it as the main color for a room. On the other hand, I’ve loved the rooms that I’ve seen that use it well. So, I decided to use my Guest room and use the yellow as an accent. But I need some inspiration. Otherwise, there’s a very real possibility that I won’t like it just like the other rooms.
This is my primary fabric from which I’m pulling all my colors:

Here’s some inspiration for my yellow projects, but I’m not going to tell you how I’m going to implement all of these things. There’s got to be a little surprise right?

This isn’t my exact palette but it’s pretty close. Come back next week to see my first project for Décor!
Also, be planning a project for yourself! At the end of this series, we’re hosting a huge linnk party so that everyone can share how they implemented color! Visit these other amazing blogs that are participating in the Challenge! It’ll be fun to see the colors that everyone picks and how they apply them over the next month.

  7. First off, I had to go back and add your name to the list. When I added it I had to adjust the font size. I couldn't get it to match the emailed size so I could either go bigger or smaller, so yours is the biggest font on my list. Maybe more people will visit because it totally stands out-Ha!

Anyway, I love yellow. It's such a fun, happy color and even as an accent I think it will be perfect for a guest room.

  9. The only shade of yellow that I have ever used is buttercream and I loved it. I had a gorgeous carpet in that color and it went with everything!
