Synopsis: I don’t like my dining room because it’s not functional for my family, so I’m going to convert my formal living room into my formal dining room.
yep, I just condensed a verbose, 500+ word post into 27 words. If you’re looking for a succinct blog, this is probably not itAnna at Design Ethos is helping me. She offered to give me one of her Design Kits for free AND one to giveaway! Last week SAS Interiors posted a really good post about 10 Reasons to Hire an Interior Designer. It really hit the nail on the head about what Anna could do for me. I didn’t have a vision for the room (which is really what got me into trouble in the first place) and Anna did.
She sent me a 17 page online booklet outlining room layout, color choices, furniture sourcing, options for upgrading or downgrading. She does all the hard work for you! You can see the whole booklet here:
She really figured out my style! I love everything and especially the little DIY tips she included like adding velvet trim around the base of my existing chairs or covering the mats of my pictures in linen to give them a little extra texture.

After all that, she prepares a source list for every item that she’s suggested in the design kit. She’s a girl after my own heart, she sourced a lot of items from Ikea, Target, Etsy and even gave me high/low options:
