I got nothin’ for ya today. I have done 0 projects this week, but I’m ok with that. I needed a little breather. I’ll pick everything back up tomorrow and hope to have lots of things for you next week including the Guest Bedroom reveal (though really you’ve seen it but it’s not ‘official’ yet).
So instead of a real post, I’ll talk about some randomness going on lately…
My big brother, Gregg, had back surgery 2 weeks ago and it apparently didn’t work. He’s going back in today for an unexpected round 2 at it. My prayer (and I ask for yours to!) is that the doctors would be able to find the source of his pain and take care of it, that there would be an immediate difference in his pain level and that his recovery is quick.
His surgery is at 10:10 today so if you would remember to say a prayer for him this weekend, that would be such a blessing.
Yep, I changed the design again (only slightly). It's like my house and my hair. I gotta change it up ALOT. Very rarely is it the same twice. I think I like the lighter background. What do you think? I feel like its easier on the eye.
I found this recipe on Pinterest at some point and it was called Miracle Bread. Apparently, I pinned the wrong one because the recipe that I made this week is not the recipe on my boards. So if this recipe is yours, please let me know and I’ll give you full credit! Anyway… it really was miraculous! Amazing. Mixing to finished backing in under an hour. I’m pretty sure this makes 2 or 3 loaves. I cut it in half and it made one HUGE loaf of bread. I might consider cutting it in thirds next time.
10 1/2 c. white bread flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 T. salt
3 rounded tablespoons saf-instant yeast
3 T. liquid lecithin (I didn't have lecithin, so I used 1/3 c. oil)
4 c. hot tap water
Mix dry ingredients. Add lecithin (or oil) and water. Mix for 1 minute and check consistency. If dough is too dry, add a little more water. Dough should be very sticky. Mix for 5 minutes. (Do not add flour to the dough after it has finished mixing.) Spray counter and pans with Pam. Shape loaves, place in pans and cover with a dish towel. Let rise 25 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
Oh and that’s definitely not a picture of my bread. Mine was super huge and then it fell a little because it was too big (but still tastes oh-so-delicious). This was someone’s bread that’s a much more talented baker than me.
My hubby and I are going to have a date night tonight. I think we’re going to go see the Avengers. Has anyone seen it? Is it good?
PS – does anyone else thing that this picture is a little unfair? Where’s Scarlett Johansson and why does Iron Man get two pictures?
My work gave me an iPad last week and I’m pretty much obsessed. Could be the best thing ever. What apps do I need? Also, what good apps are there for reading blogs? I tried bloglovin but it’s not very impressive on an iPad because it’s made for the iPhone.
That’s all the randomness I have in my pocket today! What have you got going on lately? Any random thoughts to share?
