What have I gotten myself into? Today, I’m leaving for my my first bloggers conference, called Haven, in Atlanta.

I’m so excited (but also completely freaked out). I remember hearing about it this time last year and really wanting to go, but I thought there was no way that I would actually buy a ticket. Then I finally decided that I wanted to do it and John agreed that it could be my birthday present (which isn’t until next month… I’m still 29, just saying).
I’ve been going over the schedule for two weeks… I Love Thrifting or DIY Your Blog Design? Basic Carpentry or Advanced Painting? Choices, choices…
But at the same time, this is so far beyond my comfort zone. I don’t usually do things where I don’t know anyone. So now I’m crazy nervous.
But I’m going to ignore the nerves and soak up lots of DIY/crafty/bloggy knowledge from these incredible bloggers who will be teaching. But all the awesome bloggers and the seminars are not really why I’m going. I’m going because for the past year, I’ve been building friendships with wonderful women from all over the country. Not all of them will be coming, but quite a few will and I can’t wait to meet them face-to-face.
For those of you who are going: I’m gonna warn you now, I’m a hugger. So be prepared. Just ask my college roommate, Blair, who informed me when we met that she needs personal space and isn’t really touchy… I acted like I hadn’t heard her and gave her a big hug anyway.
And continued to until she just got used to me.
I’ll take lots of pictures and share with you next week! Oh and I have another giveaway for you next week, so stayed tuned!

You're going to have so much fun! Can't wait to see your pictures and hear about everything you learned.

Hi Maury...pulling out the cards, just like they said to do...and yours went right in the blogs and people I would like to know better!!!! I am still reeling from the adventure we shared...I am so glad I went though I feel it might take a year to digest the whole thing. Thanks for one of your famous hugs and hope you come by my old country house for a visit!!
