So instead of shower pictures, which was the plan today, we’re going to talk about the guest bathroom. I think I’m being overly ambitious to get the kitchen, guest bathroom, nursery and entry way done before the baby comes, so I’m going to focus on the first three and then hit the entry if I have time, money, and energy for it in January (aka probably a 2013 project).
Since I still don’t really have a vision for the nursery, I’m going to go ahead and tackle the guest/2nd bathroom. It’s actually a great space and really needs very little work except for paint and some new bathmats and accessories. Here it is currently:
Why yes… those are grey diamonds painted on a purple background. They are quite unique and will take a lot of sanding and paint to cover up.
Here’s the fabric I’ve picked out and I’m going to make a shower curtain and possibly another valance out of it:
It’s called Waverly Solar Flair in Lime and Indigo. I’m kind of in love with it. I don’t want this bathroom to get too kiddie. Since it’s also our guest bathroom, it really needs to go both ways.
For the walls, I’m thinking horizontal green stripes like this picture:
but only above the chair rail and beadboard that is already in there. I think this will add the fun for kids but still look clean and pretty for adults. What do you think?

I have a feeling those diamonds were way cool at the time they were painted on the wall.
ReplyDeleteThat vanity is gorgeous!! I want a double vanity in our bathroom.
That's great that there's not too much to do, just cosmetic. I like your choices...stripes are a major pain though. Can't wait to see how it comes together.
ReplyDeleteIf painting and accessorizing is all you have to do to the guest bath, I think you have it made. HAH :) The purple diamonds are pretty bohemian looking!
ReplyDeleteYou're in great shape! Everything looks darn good to me - except the diamonds, of course. But at least you aren't starting from scratch. And I dig the new shower curtain!
ReplyDeleteLove the fabric!! And I'm always a fan of stripes!!

ReplyDeleteThe solar flair is beautiful! You're lucky to have such a great starting point!
ReplyDeleteThose stripes are going to be so amazing with the fabric that you picked out! I just know it is going to be so cute!

I love the solar flair fabric! I looked into getting the purple and gold version for one of our rooms, but kind of went in a different direction. I still love it though! Can't wait to see everything!
ReplyDeleteYup! The stripes will fit your chosen fabric! Great job with the mix and match you have there! Kudos!
