Checking In…

No, I didn’t fall off the face of the earth. For whatever reason, I’ve been super unmotivated this week (I’m gonna blame it on the pregnancy, because I can blame just about ANYTHING on the pregnancy and get away with it). I haven’t done any projects, I haven’t hardly responded to emails or comments, I’ve worked (kinda), gone home and been completely lazy. It was bliss.

But I’m back!

Hopefully, next week, I’ll have tons to report on. John has been hard at work on the kitchen this week. BTW, thanks for all the well wishes for his foot! He’s healing really well. I think he’s superman. Here’s a current picture of our (aka John’s) progress on the countertops:

I am getting out of not able to help with the staining or sealing due to the pregnancy (see how well that works?). So he’s been doing it all. Don’t they look beautiful? I love the color. He’s starting the sealing today. We’re using Waterlox, which is a marine/boat grade sealer, which is important for a kitchen. We don’t care that we can’t put food directly on our countertops. I wouldn’t do it anyway.

The sealing process will take awhile. He has to do 3 coats front and back and each coat needs 24 hours to dry. Bummer.

On a completely different note, be sure to check in next week because I’ll be revealing the Mudroom! I’ve got a little bit of primping to do in there, but I should be able to get it done this weekend. I love the finished product.

Hope everyone has a fun and safe Labor Day! Yay for Fall! I know fall doesn’t start until later, but I think fall starts the day after Labor Day. Hopefully, I’ll get to do some fall decorating this weekend between all my countertop duties… oh wait, I don’t have any duties because of the pregnancy! Smile

  7. Don't feel bad about taking it easy. It gets harder the further along you are. I'm 35 weeks today and now moving at a snail's pace. Can't wait to see your mud room!
