Dreaming of Fall…

I’ve been seriously wishing that it were fall. I get that way when kids are going back to school, I see all the sweaters in stores, and Halloween and Fall stuff fills the aisle at Hobby Lobby and fall decorations are all over Pinterest. I always make myself hold off decorating until at least September 1st, but that doesn’t meant that I can’t think about what I want to do, right?

Here are some of the things that are getting me excited lately:

My best friend gave me a lantern just like this last year. I can’t wait to do this with it. I might need to invest in a second one. I can definitely see these playing a part in my fall mantle. And these might be on the other side:

I make soup all fall and all winter long. I love soup and this is one of my favorites. It’s my Slow Cooker Baked Potato Soup and it’s amazing and SOOO easy.

Seriously? I’ve been having a hard time waiting to do this dessert. Hollow out the apples, bake with cinnamon and sugar inside and fill it with ice cream and top with caramel. It doesn’t get better than that.

There are many more on my Autumn/Thanksgiving or Halloween board on Pinterest. Are you dying for fall to be here or are you drawing out summer as long as possible?

  4. After the H~O~T summer we've had this year (and are still having), I can't wait for much cooler weather. We had a good thunderstorm here the night before last and the grass and plants got a much needed drink of water that watering with hose just doesn't do. It cooled things down a bit but it has still been in the mid 100s with exception for today which is 99!! Some better but not much.

  5. I'm totally on the fall train. I shouldn't be so quick to give up on summer because winter totally follows fall and Iowa winters are no bueno. But I still want fall. Mmm, soup.

  10. I LOVE fall! I definitely miss those first days of cooler weather and pulling out my sweaters. But I am definitely doing some fall decor this year ... even in the 100 degree temps. :) I love the holes in the pumpkins and the ice cream/apple/caramel. YUM!!!
