WOW! Your 'to do' list looks alot like mine, but you've accomplished so much! Love the louvered doors on all the closets. I've spent a fortune replacing all of my 6-panel closet/bedroom doors with the louvers. Let's in the a/c and since I painted them (and the trim) espresso ... really brings the room up-to-date!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you do with all the other rooms!
Your house is coming along great! Keep up the good work:) Thanks for stopping by my blog. The book bundles you commented on are sooo easy to make ... It will be a welcome change from all the hard work (no paint involved). I'm now your 101 follower. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI love the powder room! Can't wait to see what you do next.

glad to see that i'm not the only one who makes lists for each room. now that i'm here, i've been to your blog before because i remember your family room area. following you now too!
ReplyDeleteWOW! You have done a lot of hard work!! You have great taste! I am your newest follower. Keep up the great work. :)
ReplyDeleteI love that you have a project list! Awesome job on the house! I gutted and remodeled my house in Feb '09 before I started blogging so I didn't chronicle. anything. I'm currently stuck in the "decoration indecision" phase, along with having a bunch of tedious things left to finish that I am avoiding. Random crafts are much more fun.
ReplyDeleteI'm following you now, come check out my site if you get the chance :)
Our dining tables are twins! Seriously. I actually got mine at an antique store. It's Thomasville from the 1940's and looks so much like you ball and claw. I paired it with chairs from Pier 1 that look alot like yours too. Crazy.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all your great before and afters! Thanks for your kind comments and following me-I'm a new follower!
ReplyDeleteHi! you're house is beautiful and I can appreciate all the hard work you put into it. I was wondering how you hung the curtains in the sunroom. I have a similar sunroom but cannot figure out how to hang curtains.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Thank you so much! I didn't have a way to respond do you so I hope you'll check back here. I did a full tutorial on the curtains here: http://www.lifeonmarsblog.net/2011/07/faux-curtains.html They are super simple.
DeleteAbove sharing home design pictures are watch for really wonderful. It through many useful news collection from here! We are collection from some design from here!
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference it made to paint your kitchen cabinets and fireplace!
ReplyDeleteLove the wainscotting in your dining room.
You rule because you painted your brick. Painted brick is the most beautiful thing in the world when done properly.
ReplyDeleteYou have a big, beautiful house! I love your updates and designs!
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous!
I like all your hard work....everything came out beautiful...what you will do next?
ReplyDeleteRoman shades concord, ca
This is a great way of showing what you are doing. I love it.
ReplyDeleteLove all the work you've down. The guest bedroom is gorgeous with the striped curtains.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! The guest room is one of my favorites too!
DeleteI love the changes you guys have made! It's beautiful!! Where did you find the curtains and the bedding for the guest room? I have been on a quest to find a comforter that I love for almost two years now...I have purchased about 6 different coverlets/comforters/duvets and I still don't love the current one. I think the one you've chosen for the guest room may be "the one"! =)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Candace! I actually made the curtains from some white Target curtains and spray paint (here's the tutorial for that:http://www.lifeonmarsblog.net/2012/04/spray-painting-fabric-tutorial.html). Unfortunately, the bedding is Pottery Barn from the outlet about 7 years ago and they don't have it anymore.
DeleteYour kitchen cabinets look great! What did you use for paint and what steps did you take?
ReplyDeleteThanks
Hi! Thanks so much. I did a whole post on that. Feel free to check it out here: http://www.lifeonmarsblog.net/2011/06/dont-ever-paint-your-cabinets.html and http://www.lifeonmarsblog.net/2011/06/cabinets-are-complete.html
DeleteNice. I think I'm in love with your walls.
ReplyDeleteHi Maury, just found your blog spot and noticed your fireplace makeover...WOW!!! Same situation here...been looking at this thing for 15 years! Finally talked hubby into painting it. Can you tell me the color you used on the brick? My walls are darker than yours, BM Carolina Gull (grey/green).
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful home...great job!
Vanessa
Thank you so much! The color is BM Linen White and it goes with basically everything.
DeleteI too love what you've done with the fireplace, Maury. Ours is similar in shape and size - the hearth and mantle particularly. Our wood fireplace is simply decorative, as it gives off very little heat. Is that a fireplace insert you have there? We were recommended not to buy one that sits flush with the brick but I don't much like the ones that stick out so much they take away all the hearth space. Any thoughts on this, based on your research? Thanks so much, "Farmer Doug" @ Ladybug's Mew in Yellow Point, B.C. Canada - doug@ladybugsmew.ca and http://www.ladybugsmew.ca
